Dr. Lisa is a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with over 25 years of experience. She brings to the Lilac Center a wide variety of clinical experience including positions as a crisis responder in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, an elementary school interventionist, an inpatient family counselor, and a grief and loss specialist. In 1999, Dr. Lisa opened a private practice in Eastern Jackson County and served children, youth, individuals and families in general counseling. In 2006, she returned to school to obtain her PhD in general psychology. While completing her doctoral work in grief and personality disorders, she became a national speaker and facilitator for corporate, not-for-profit, and educational groups. She now represents the Lilac Center in speaking engagements here in Kansas City, as well as regionally and nationally. Dr. Lisa is trained in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and is honored to work with individuals as they gain skills to live a richer, fuller life. Often described as warm and funny with lots of energy, Dr. Lisa lives north of the river near her three grandkids whom she loves dearly.
