The Lilac Center's DBT Program includes the following:

Individual Therapy
Weekly individual therapy is an essential component of DBT, and assists people in further developing new behaviors consistent with skills taught in DBT skills training group. Individual therapy combines validation and problem-solving strategies to help clients inhibit maladaptive, mood-dependent behaviors and increase deliberate and more effective responses to situations.

Skills Training Group
Skills training groups meet once a week for 1.5 hours. These groups combine lecture, discussion, and weekly exercises to learn:
1. Core mindfulness/awareness
2. Distress tolerance
3. Emotion regulation
4. Interpersonal effectiveness
5. Self-management & relapse prevention

Phone Coaching
DBT therapists are available to clients between sessions for coaching and for crisis intervention. Coaching calls are not intended as phone therapy sessions or as a suicide hotline, but to assist clients in utilizing DBT skills to change behavior.

Therapist Consultation Group
Consultation is specifically for clinicians. It provides an opportunity for DBT providers to gain support from one another, discuss client and group progress, coordinate care and create solutions for clients’ challenges.

This compassionate and validating program adheres to the full DBT model that has been proven to achieve the best results for our clients.
