Lilac Center's Adult DBT program offers a supportive environment for personal growth. It includes weekly individual therapy sessions to address personal concerns and customize treatment plans. Participants also join weekly group therapy for shared learning and community support, while coaching calls provide guidance between sessions. This holistic approach ensures ongoing progress and reinforcement of newly acquired behavioral skills.
What is Dialectical Behavior Therapy?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) originally developed to treat borderline personality disorder (BPD). It has since been adapted to address various other mental health conditions, including mood disorders, substance abuse, eating disorders, and PTSD. DBT emphasizes the development of coping skills to manage distress, regulate emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and cultivate mindfulness using the four modules of DBT therapy.
