TMS Therapy
Are you struggling with depression that hasn't responded to medication or therapy? You're not alone, and there is another option.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment that uses gentle magnetic pulses to stimulate the areas of the brain associated with mood regulation.
At the Lilac Center, we're proud to offer TMS as part of our commitment to whole-person care.
You may be a good candidate for TMS if:
You have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD) and have not found relief through antidepressants
You've tried two or more medications without adequate results, or experienced intolerable side effects
You are seeking a drug-free approach to treatment, either on its own or alongside your current care plan
A physician or mental health provider has recommended exploring alternative treatment options
What you can expect:
TMS is a non-invasive, outpatient treatment delivered by trained clinical staff in a comfortable, supportive environment.
Sessions are typically 20–40 minutes, and you can resume normal activities immediately afterward. Many patients begin noticing improvement within the first few weeks of treatment.
TMS has been shown to produce meaningful, lasting relief for those living with treatment-resistant depression without the systemic side effects often associated with medication.
TMS Protocols Offered at the Lilac Center:
We offer Traditional TMS and Accelerated TMS protocols.
What is Traditional TMS? Traditional TMS involves one session per day over several weeks.
What is Accelerated TMS? Accelerated TMS (also FDA-approved) delivers multiple sessions per day on a condensed schedule, allowing treatment to be completed in days rather than weeks.
Both TMS protocols have demonstrated comparable safety and effectiveness, giving you and your care team the flexibility to choose what fits your life.
The Lilac Center will work closely with your existing care team to ensure TMS fits seamlessly into your overall treatment plan.
